2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup Outright Winner Tips, Odds & Free Bets

China is the host for the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup. The tournament starts at the end of August and will run for over two weeks with 32 teams competing for the ultimate prize. Team USA looks a vulnerable favourite. Who will win the Basketball World Cup? Here are our Outright Betting Tips for the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup, best odds and no deposit free bets!
There are eight groups of four labelled A to H in the first round of the FIBA Basketball World Cup, where each team will play each other in their respective group, just like the football World Cup.
Group A: Ivory Coast, Poland, Venezuela and China
Group B: Russia, Argentina, South Korea and Nigeria
Group C: Spain, Iran, Puerto Rico and Tunisia
Group D: Angola, Philppines, Italy and Serbia
Group E: Turkey, Cech Republic, USA and Japan
Group F: Greece, New Zealand, Brazil and Montenegro
Group G: Dominican Republic, France, Germany and Jordan
Group H: Canada, Senegal, Lithuania and Australia.
The second round will feature the two best teams in each group of the first round, shortening the playing field from 32 to 16 teams.
Remaining teams will play knock-out matches until the winner will be crowned on September 15th.
Serbia brings in a stacked lineup littered with top NBA talent that will undoubtedly challenge Team USA. In China this year, coach Sasha Djorjevic will have Nemanja Bjelica, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Nikola Jokic, and Boban Marjanovic (to name a few) at his disposal. The bad news arrived last week though, with the main playmaker Milos Teodosic got injured in a friendly duel against Lithuania. He won’t be traveling to China.
Spain have won the title in 2006 and have won medals at the last three Olympics plus medals at EuroBasket too. La Furia Roja’s team is rejuvenated. Coach Scariolo will not be able to call upon Juan Carlos ‘La Bomba’ Navarro, Pau Gasol, Felipe Reyes or José Manuel Calderón this time around. As a result, we do not believe that they are going to repeat the success from 2006 when they outclassed Greece in the title game.
Greece national team has seen its title odds shorten throughout the summer and it stems mainly from Giannis Antetokounmpo’s serious commitment about winning gold. Their draw doesn’t look too hard and they should at least make it to the quarter finals.
Australia could be the suprise package this year. To reach the World Cup, the Boomers went 10-2 for a reasonably comfortable qualification. The only losses were an entertaining one-point loss on a tough Japanese home court, and against a motivated Iranian team. Although the Philadelphia 76ers' Ben Simmons pulled out at a late stage, they beat USA in the pre-tournament warm up match, courtesy of a stunning performance of Patty Mills.
France is also marked as one of the dark horses going into the tournament. Legendary Tony Parker won’t be there to help the team, but Rudy Gobert, Nicolas Batum and Nando De Colo are all talented players.
The likes of Lithuania, Italy, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Turkey and Russia will compete for the Top 10 places rather than a placement on the podium. Nigeria are ranked 33rd in the world but represent the strongest challenge from Africa. Host nation China warmed up for this tournament by playing in the Las Vegas NBA Summer League recording a win over Charlotte Hornets. They lost their other three games and ended up 29th of the 32 teams.

Despite the fact that USA will be without several star players at the 2019 FIBA World Cup, Gregg Popovich’s men are still regarded as No. 1 favourites to win the trophy. Kemba Walker, who recently relocated to the Boston Celtics in the free agency window will lead a team that recently lost to Australia in a friendly game. That defeat broke a 78-game winning streak in major international competition. Along with Kemba Walker, Khris Middleton and Kyle Lowry (who is still recovering from thumb surgery) will be the only American All-Stars making the trip to China. The frontcourt is a bit thin, with Myles Turner, Lopez and Mason Plumlee in place at center and no true power forward on the roster.Serbia brings in a stacked lineup littered with top NBA talent that will undoubtedly challenge Team USA.
