Stage 19 profile is bumpy as the race skirts the foothills of the Jura mountains without ever quite hitting the real climbs.

More than half the teams in the race have yet to win a stage, and this is essentially the last breakaway opportunity. Of course, GC contenders will save their legs for Saturday's ITT at La Panche des Belles Filles.

Peter Sagan will see this as his last big chance in the points classification, but he and Bora-Hansgrohe have a lot of work to do if he is to take back green.

The only team that could force the tempo is Peter Sagan's Bora Hansgrohe, as the Slovakian will try to drop Sam Bennett and regain his Green Jersey.

Although this stage has been promoted as one for sprinters, there is enough climbing here to encourage a breakaway, who can often be successful in latter stages when energies are in short supply.

Fast riders like Elia Viviani, Matteo Trentin, Bryan Coquard, Edvald Boasson Hagen, Sonny Colbrelli and Greg Van Avermaet will probably look to escape as well as breawakay specialists like Thomas De Gendt, Alessandro De Marchi, Julian Alaphilippe, Alexey Lutsenko, Pavel Sivakov, Kasper Asgreen, Oliver Naesen and Warren Barguil.
