TOUR DE FRANCE STAGE 7 BETTING PREVIEW
Stage 7 is a lumpy stage with a number of climbs standing out. But these ascents are all situated in the first part of the stage. The longest climb is the Col de Peyronnenc (14.5km at 3.9%). Its summit is almost 100 kilometres from the finish line. Anyway, the areas of Aveyron and Tarn are far from flat, and are renowned for strong winds and the potential echelons that comes with the tailwind.Hence, this stage offers a chance for the sprinters ahead of a week in the Pyrenees, but it’s far from certain that this will end in a bunch sprint.
It could end up being absolutely nerve-wracking, because everyone expects crosswind sections.
Will the final 40 kilometers of winding flat roads favor the sprint teams to set up the kick in Lavaur? Or will the teams take it easy before two days in the mountains and let a breakaway to succeed?
Stage 7 Favorites
In case of sprint, the likes of Sam Bennett, Caleb Ewan and Cees Bol are favorites fpr the stage win. Ewan has already won a stage in impressive fashion, while Bennett went very close in a many of occasions (he finished 4th in the mass sprint on stage 1, 2nd on Stage 3, and 3rd on Stage 5). The Dutchman Cees Bol has promised much this Tour, but he seems reliant on his team to deliver him late, lacking the surfing-the-wheels skill that is needed to win bunch sprints these days.Wout Van Aert, Mads Pedersen and Giacomo Nizzolo are the other contenders, with the Belgian unlikely to sprint should his team require his service to protect the captain Primoz Roglic.
Peter Sagan and Alexander Kristoff also offer a good opportunity for bettors looking at long-shots.
Is a breakaway an unlikely scenario?
Actually, not many teams have been willing to help with the chase, with QuickStep already having worked hard and Lotto down to six men, the attackers will smell blood. As a result, we should not overlook riders like Greg Van Avermaet, Thomas De Gendt, Oliver Naesen, Matej Mohoric, Kasper Asgreen and Alessandro De Marchi.

Outsiders?
In case of echelons, anything could happen and riders that would be 100% beaten in regular sprints could profit from extreme conditions. Hence, riders such as Sonny Colbrelli, Niccolò Bonifazio, Luka Mezgec, Bryan Coquard and Jasper Stuyven could have a chance to upset the favorites.STAGE PROFILE
