Barcelona have a number of key players listed as out and doubts ahead of El Clasico. Arthur continues to struggle with injury while Ousmane Dembele is sidelined. Jordi Alba and Nelson Semedo are not 100% fit and they could make room to Sergi Roberto and Junior Firpo. In midfield, Ivan Rakitic is expected to get another start alongside Sergio Busquets. No changes are expected up front, where Leo Messi will be flanked by Luis Suarez and Antoine Griezmann. The likes of Gerard Piquet and Clement Lenglet will start as centre backs.
Fede Valverde is expected to start in midfield owing to his excellent performances of late. He will join Casemiro and Toni Kroos in the middle of the park. With Eden Hazard out through injury, teenage prodigy Rodrygo could start up front. In alternative, Luka Modric should paly as number ten behind the offensive duo formed by Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema. At the back, Ferland Mendy returns from suspension and should start at left-back. The likes of Raphael Varane, Sergio Ramos and Dani Carvajal are likely to complete the backline. James Rodriguez will also be out until at least the new year while Marco Asensio is out and may not play again this season following a knee injury.

Real Madrid are currently enduring a six-match winless streak against Barça
Real Madrid will try to extend an 11-match unbeaten run that was preserved by Karim Benzema’s late equaliser away to Valencia on Sunday. The Galacticos have only lost twice this season, both defeats came on the road at PSG and Mallorca. Los Blancos have registered just one clean sheet from their past six matches in all competitions. Anyway, they boast the second best defense of La Liga with just 12 goals conceded so far. Their away form is much better in the last few months. Zinedine Zidane's men have won four and drawn one of their last five outings on the road, having picked up only two victories in 11 before that.Fede Valverde is expected to start in midfield owing to his excellent performances of late.
