Barcelona v Valencia betting preview  

Barcelona didn't finish their league season in the strongest of fashion

Barcelona have made back-to-back La Liga title under Ernesto Valverde but their season has been disappointing, considering the way they were knocked out in Champions League. The Blaugrana led Liverpool 3-0 heading into the second leg of the semifinal but they lost 4-0 at Anfield. The Catalan giants have won just once in the last four outings - a 2-0 home win over Getafe. Since the end of last month, have lost at Celta Vigo and Liverpool, while also being held by Eibar last time out (2:2). As to direct encounters, Barca are unbeaten in six against Los Che since a 2-1 home loss in April 2016

Luis Suarez underwent knee surgery earlier this month while Ousmane Dembele is once again struggling with a niggling injury problem. This paves the way for Lionel Messi to lead the line with support from Philippe Coutinho and Malcom. Arthur will also be missing from the the squad, meaning that Arturo Vidal will join Ivan Rakitic and Sergio Busquets in midfield. Marc-Andre Ter Stegen has a knee injury. Second choice goalkeeper Jasper Cilessen, who has been used in the Copa Del Rey, will start between the posts.

Valencia will be full of confidence after an excellent second half of the season

Despite being just four points off the relegation zone in January at one stage, Valencia habe attained Champions League football for next term at the very last day of La Liga, leapfrogging Getafe who had held on to 4th spot for much of the season. Geoffrey Kondogbia has recovered from a long-term injury and will feature from the off in midfield, along with Dani Parejo, and the two wingers Goncalo Guedes and Carlos Soler. The likes Rodrigo Moreno and Kevin Gameiro should get the nod up top.
