BAYERN MUNICH v RB LEIPZIG BETTING PREVIEW
Bayern Munich s are entering the match in a somewhat better mood winning five games in a row in all competitions. This run has included some excellent results, not least a 1-0 Champions League win over Spanish side Atletico Madrid. Anyway, they ultimately had to rely on a free-kick from Douglas Costa to secure a narrow 1-0 win over Darmstadt last weekend, although their dominant 79% ball possession. The Bavarians have won 16 of their last 20 home games and won 14 of those 16 by at least two goals.
Carlo Ancelotti could switch to a 4-2-3-1, allowing Thomas Muller, Frank Ribery and Arjen Robben to support the lone striker Robert Lewandowski from the offensive midfielders positions. The Italian manager will definitely be missing Jerome Boateng, so Javi Martinez should continue at centre-back. Thiago Alcantara and Xabi Alonso are expected to start in the middle of the park. Kingsley Coman and Julian Green are also out through injury.
Newly promoted RB Leipzig have recorded eleven wins, three draws and one loss so far. They bounced from their shock 1-0 defeat away to the resurgent Ingolstadt with a dominant 2-0 win at home to European contenders Hertha Berlin last Saturday, thanks to goals from Timo Werner and Willi Orban. Leipzig have only been outscored in this season’s Bundesliga by Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund and also have the joint-second best defensive record in the league.
Leipzig have few fresh injury concerns. The visitors can, therefore, name an unchanged side. Only Bernardo could switch to left-back, with Marcel Halstenberg a major doubt to recover from a thigh injury in time. Naby Keita is doubtfiul to recover from a pulled hamstring and could be replaced by captain Dominik Kaiser. Lukas Klostermann, Marvin Compper and Kyriakos Papadopoulos are injured and they will not play for sure.
