Anthony Joshua suffered a devastating KO loss against fellow countryman Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium on september 21st, 2024. Anthony Joshua became a household name in the U.K., having routinely sold out stadiums in England. AJ lost his IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight titles against Usyk at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium two years ago. Since then, he lost by decision the rematch against the Ukrainian boxer, defeated Jermaine Franklin by UD, knocked Robert Helenius out in the seventh round, inflicted Swedish boxer Otto Wallin the first KO defeat and destroyed former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.
Unfortunately, AJ missed the chance to become only the sixth-ever three-time heavyweight champion having been floored four times by Daniel Dubois en route to a thunderous knockout defeat in the fifth round.
A victory against DDD would have set up a potential All-British super fight with Tyson Fury.

Anthony Joshua has never been dominated in such fashion. He's been caught by Andy Ruiz, and outboxed by Oleksandr Usyk but he was battered from pillar to post by Dubois from the first bell - dropped multiple times and then brutally knocked out in front of 96,000 shocked fans at Wembley.
It is now unclear what lies in store next for Joshua, who was hoping to win to meet the winner of Oleksandr Usyk's December rematch with Tyson Fury.
Certainly, AJ now faces a tough decision over the road map for his future, with many pundits predicting a retirement. Anyway, Joshua poured cold water on any suggestion that he'll be retiring. He said: "Of course I want to continue fighting. We took a shot and we came up short."
Furthermore, shortly after the bout, AJ's manager Eddie Hearn backed Joshua to return to the biggest stage after his fourth professional defeat. Hearn said the former champion will probably activate a rematch clause as he still has a fight remaining on a contract with Riyadh Season.
"We fancied winning tonight and facing the winner of Usyk vs Fury, now we may end up fighting the loser of that fight if it's Fury", said the Matchroom Boxing chief.
Although with a number of options on the table, Joshua insists he could take another risk again next and is not keen on hanging up his gloves.

Anthony Joshua’s next fight has yet to be confirmed but Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn has indicated that a rematch with Daniel Dubois is on the cards.
Dubois’ manager Frank Warren seems less keen, however, with a rematch against Oleksandr Usyk being eyed.

Who is Anthony Joshua?
Joshua is a 2012 Olympic gold medalist at super heavyweight representing Great Britain and is the unified world heavyweight champion. He has won 28 and lost four of his 32 bouts as a pro boxer, including the first 22 fights. His only losses came at the hands of Mexican boxer Andy Ruiz Jr. in his first and only fight in the United States of America, and twice against Oleksandr Usyk last year.
