AB NOVICES HURDLE BETTING PREVIEW
One of three Grade 1 contests on the final day of the Cheltenham Festival is the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle. It's a Grade 1 National Hunt hurdle race, run over a distance of about three miles, for horses aged four years and upwards. This makes the race the starting platform for many young horses, who go on to have great racing careers at a high level.
Despite being one of the newest races at the festival this event has already provided us with high class winners, thrilling finishes and more. The AB Novices' Hurdle is where we will see future Gold Cup and future Stayers Hurdle horses.
And now we take a closer look at this year's Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle and try to determine which horse is likely to prevail in this race.

Who will win the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle 2024?
READIN TOMMY WRONG won the Lawlor's Of Naas Novice Hurdle - by a neck to stablemate Ile Atlantique, beating other good novices that day in the hands of Daryl Jacob - and currently heads the market. He is unbeaten, having won two bumpers at Ballinrobe and Tipperary before scoring on hurdle debut in a Cork maiden in November last year.
Stablemate DANCING CITY is next after landing the Grade 1 Nathaniel Lacy & Partners Solicitors Novice Hurdle at the Dublin Racing Festival while Nicky Henderson's SHANAGH BOB extended his unbeaten record with a win in the Bristol Novices' Hurdle here at Cheltenham in December.
Willie Mullins' HIGH CLASS HERO arrives here unbeaten in four starts, three times over hurdles during the summer and at Thurles in January. He certainly has the experience but the strength of his form is uestionable, with most of his victories coming during the summer months.
The Irish trainer has also entered LECKY WATSON, fourth in last season's Champion Bumper, who won on debut at Thurles in November and placed behind Supreme winner Slade Steel at Navan and Reading Tommy Wrong at Naas in a Grade 1.
CAPTAIN TEAGUE is currently well supported in the betting following his success in the Grade 1 Challow at Newbury last time out. He looked an obvious option for this race since his staying on third in last season's Champion Bumper.
Harry Fry's GIDLEIGH PARK has won all 4 career starts to date - 1 bumper and 3 hurdles - with his latest success coming at Cheltenham for the trial for this race when beating Lucky Place by ½ length. Prior to that, he put behind him the well-respected Fire Flyer of Paul Nicholls (who has won since) at Newbury by 9 lengths.
Dark Horses?
The Henry De Bromhead-trained CHIGORIN outstayed several capable rivals when winning over three miles on his most recent run at Fairyhouse in December.
Jonjo O'Neill's JOHNNYWHO has finished fourth behind Captain Teague and Gidleigh Park in recent starts and there's plenty in his pedigree to offer encouragement over this longer trip. The seven-year-old was also successful in a Taunton bumper and a Carlisle Novice Hurdle in hist first two starts under Rules.
Ben Pauling's THE JUKEBOX MAN finished behind Captain Teague and a place ahead of Johnnywho when third in the Challow Novices' Hurdle.
Dan Skelton's DEAFENING SILENCE is another possible contender as well as Gordon Elliott's SEARCH FOR GLORY who was was pulled up in this race last year but has managed to win three times this campaign, including two 3m Grade 3s on deep ground.
Elliott also has STELLAR STORY, a winner of a 2m4f Navan maiden on testing ground in November that has performed well in a trio of graded races since then.

Ruby Walsh's Tips
"I’m with Readin Tommy Wrong. He’s the classiest horse in this race but keep an eye on Dancing City, who finished second behind Ballyburn and ahead of Slade Steel at Punchestown last year."2024 ALBERT HURDLE NOVICES HURDLE FREE BETS
