MARTIN PIPE HANDICAP HURDLE BETTING PREVIEW
The Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle is the newest Cheltenham Race at the Festival and is considered the championship race for conditional (apprentice) jockeys in the United Kingdom. It's a National Hunt hurdle for conditional jockeys, run over two miles and four-and-a-half furlongs, for horses aged four years and upwards. Surprisingly for an unrated race, the Martin Pipe Hurdle has produced some top quality winners in its short history, including Sir Des Champs, Galopin Des Champs, and Don Poli.
The Martin Pipe Handicap Hurdle is an extremely tough race to solve for punters as, like any other Cheltenham handicap, many horses will come into the race and look well handicapped on paper.
And now we take a closer look at this year's Martin Pipe Handicap Hurdle in the coming days and try to determine which horse is likely to prevail a couple of weeks ahead of the race.

Who will win the Martin Pipe 2024?
Willie Mullins-trained QUAI DE BOURBON currently heads the market. The novice hurdler has recorded 2 win in four outings, including last time out when he beat stablemate Westport Cove at Clonmel. He has an attractive mark of 140.OCASTLE DES MOTTES, another Mullins entry, is a dual winner on testing ground. He failed to live up to his billing making his first start outside France at Newbury last month.
Henry De Bromhead's WATERFORD WHISPERS beat decent rivals like Answer To Kayf and Ataboycharlie in his first couple of novice outings this term and also ran very well when runner-up on his handicap debut at Leopardstown in December. He has been kept fresh since then, meaning that his connections have targeted this race.
ANSWER TO KAYF arrives here off the back of winning a 2m3f heavy-ground Naas novice last month.
JP McManus has entered NO ORDINARY JOE, who was narrowly beaten by Iroko in this race 12 months ago off a one-pound lower mark.
BETTER DAYS AHEAD was beaten just 5 lengths by Slade Steel in a Navan Grade 2 and on his last start was 10 lengths behind Supreme Dark Horse Asian Master (giving him 15 pounds).
Dark horses?
SONIGINO had three wins last term. Paul Nicholls' charge managed to build on those efforts in the Silver Trophy at Chepstow, and the Greatwood Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham in the autumn, before landing a win at Aintree in December. He disappointed in the Lanzarote at Kempton since.JAY JAY REALLY was a surprise winner of the Lanzarote Hurdle at Kempton in January but then unable to back it up at Ascot since.
WHAT'S UP DARLING won a Grade 3 Navan novice race in November over 2m on testing ground. He was far from disgraced in either run since in better contests and finished a good third last month at Gowarn Park.
Gordon Elliott's YEATS STAR won over hurdles at Downpatrick and Punchestown earlier in the season and recorded solid performances twice since in better company at Leopardstown.
BINGOO is 4-7 over hurdles, most recently scoring at Aintree on Boxing Day off a mark of 124 in a decent race
MEL MONROE kicked off her season with a good second to Encanto Bruno at Cheltenham and has been in good form since, including when placed behind solid horses such as Croke Park and Brighterdaysahead.
Other possible contenders with podium ambitions are Gordon Elliott's MAGIC TRICKS, HOLLOW GAMES and STUZZKINI, Sam Thomas' ANGELS BREATH, David Pipe's THANKSFORTHEHELP, Nicky Henderson's RUSSIAN RULER, and TEDDY BLUE for Gary Moore.

Ruby Walsh's Tips
"Willie Mullins has Quai De Bourbon at the top of the market and he could be ahead of the handicapper. Ocastle Des Mottes makes appeal to me as he will show improvement from stepping up in trip."2024 MARTIN PIPE HANDICAP HURDLE FREE BETS
