BORUSSIA DORTMUND v BAYERN MUNICH BETTING PREVIEW
Borussia Dortmund claimed a 3-1 win over AC Milan in an International Champions Cup match in China last month but they have struggled since then, losing both to Espanyol and Atalanta with a 0-1 scoreline. New signings Maximilian Philipp, Ömer Toprak and Mahmoud Dahoud have strengthened a Dortmund side that finished 3rd in the Bundesliga last season, trailing Bayern by a huge 18 points.Marco Reus remains out with a long-term cruciate ligament problem while Raphaël Guerreiro, Julian Weigl, Emre Mor and Marcel Schmelzer will also play no part in Saturday's fixture. Matthias Ginter and Sven Bender have both leaft the club in the summer, and former Ajax manager Peter Bosz has seen his options restricted. Bosz should field a 4-3-3 formation, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang flanked by Christian Pulisic and Ousmane Dembelè up front. Anyway, Mario Götze and Shinji Kagawa both have a chance of starting in a more attack-minded role in front of Sahin.
Bayern Munich enter this match fresh off the embarrassing back-to-back defeats to Liverpool and Napoli at recently-held Audi Cup at Allianz Arena. Prior to that, the Bavarians recorded disappointing defeats to Arsenal (on penalties after a 1-1 draw), AC Milan (0-4) and Inter Milan (0-2) in the International Champions Cup. After a such poor pre-season, Carlo Ancelotti's men are already under pressure.
Manue Neuer is still injured and will miss this clash and the start to the new Bundesliga campaign. Juan Bernat is out following an ankle operation and Thiago Alcantara has also been ruled out of Saturday’s tie. New signing James Rodríguez is a major doubt while the likes of Arjen Robben, David Alaba and Jerome Boateng are all doubtful. Robert Lewandowski will lead the line while Kingsley Coman, Thomas Muller and Frank Ribery are favourite to start as offensive midfielders. Corentin Tolisso - bought from Lyon - and Renato Sanches both have a chance of starting in central midfield alongside Arturo Vidal.
