EURO 2016 TOP GOALSCORER BETTING PREVIEW
Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 51 goals in 49 appearances for club and country in 2015/16. The Portuguese star scored just once at the World Cup 2010 and three times at Euro 2012. He is expected to improve his tally as Austria, Hungary, and Iceland all have weak defences that Ronaldo should be able to penetrate.
Thomas Muller was superb at the 2014 World Cup, bagging five goals and narrowly missing out on the Golden Boot award. He will be supported by Mesut Ozil, who provided 18 assists this season. Muller always seems to be in the right place at the right time, expecially when he plays big tournaments with Die Mannschaft.
Antoine Griezmann has scored 33 goals in 58 appearances for club and country in 2015/16 but he has bagged only 7 goals in 26 appearances for his national team. He is a penalty taker and a sure starter in the favourite team to lift the trophy.
His team-mate Olivier Giroud has scored 13 goals for his country since making his debut in 2011 and 82 in his four seasons with Arsenal but we expect him to battle for a starting berth with Martial and Gignac.
Harry Kane possesses one of the best strike rates in Europe (one goal every six shots), has won the Golden Boot in Premier League with 25 goals and has scored 31 goals in 56 appearances for club and country in 2015/16. He he takes penalties and free kicks so looks the obvious choice for anyone wanting to back an English player given that Jamie Vardy will play on the left wing and Wayne Rooney into a deeper role
Robert Lewandowski topped the Bundesliga scoring chart with 30 goals in 38 matches and led the Euro 2016 qualification chart with 13 goals in 10 games. He hasn't produced his best for Poland with a record of 34 goals in 75 international matches but has a group where he could score goals. Another interesting selection is his team-mate Arkadiusz Milik.
Spain is not the most prolific team at the moment and their key strikers Diego Costa and Alvaro Morata have been affected by physical problems in recent times. Chelsea's striker Costa has only managed a meagre 16 goals in 44 appearances for club and country this season and failed to score for Spain at the Brazil World Cup two years ago. As consequence, Nolito's price is quickly shortening.
Italy also have not scored many goals lately and Graziano Pellè, Ciro Immobile, Simone Zaza and Eder are not sure to start every match. They are all likely to rotate as Antonio Conte always wants fresh legs.
Gareth Bale bagged seven of team’s eleven goals in the qualifying campaign and had a terrific season with Real Madrid. Anyway, Wales have been drawn in a tough draw with England, Russia and Slovakia and the Dragon are not expected to have a long summer.
Romelu Lukaku is likely to start every game for Belgium after Christian Benteke’s disappointing season in Liverpool and given that Divock Origi is still unexperienced at this levels. With the likes of of Eden Hazard, Kevin De Bruyne and Radja Nainggolan playing behind him, he is a very strong contender, also considering that Sweden and Rep. of Ireland are shaky in defense.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has scored a remarkable 50 goals in 52 games for club and country in 2015/16, leading PSG to win all the national titles and Sweden to earn a qualification. He is the "one man show" of the team, penalty and set pieces taker. Sweden has been draw in a tough group with Italy, Belgium and Ireland and this could affect his offensive production.
Looking for big shots??
Mario Gomez has regained some form in Turkey but we don't expect him to win the Golden Boot title while Mario Mandzukic is an interesting option, given that his Croatia has plenty of fantasy in the offensive midfield.
If you are looking for higher odds, you could select an offensive midfielder (do you remember James Rodriguez at the World Cup?). In our opinion, Andriy Yarmolenko, Eden Hazard and Ivan Perisic are worth a try. Furthermore, we can't rule out Dimitri Payet as West Ham's player is on fire, expecially when he take free kicks.
