England vs Scotland Betting Preview
England got their revenge over Croatia in their Euro 2020 opening match, as Raheem Sterling's goal was enough to beat the team who knocked out the Three Lions in the 2018 World Cup semifinal. Phillips was England’s standout performer all game, shutting down Croatia’s playmakers in impressive fashion. The strike gave England their first ever win in a European Championship opener and propelled them to the top of Group D. A win over Scotland will be enough to secure their place in the knockout stage.Scotland are on the backfoot in Group D having lost their opening match 2-0 against Czech Republic. Although they played better than the scoreline suggest, the Scots were defensively suspect and goalkeeper David Marshall was embarrassed from halfway by the sublime Patrik Schick. This will be the first direct encounter between the two home nations since 2017 when Scotland shocked England to a 2-2 draw. Prior to that, the Tartan Army was beaten by England 3-0 at Wembley in 2016.
Best Odds & Enhanced Prices
England are red-hot favourites at 7/20 with Unibet, Scotland the underdogs at 10.00 with William Hill and the draw at 9/2 with Betfred. As usual, there plenty of enhanced odds you can profit from and we invite you to take a look at them below..
Probable Line-Ups
England (4-2-3-1): Pickford; Trippier, Mings, Stones, Shaw; Phillips, Rice; Grealish, Sterling, Rashford; KaneTyrone Mings is expected again to be selected to partner John Stones in the absence of the injured Harry Maguire, while Kieran Trippier should playing as right-back allowing Luke Shaw or Ben Chilwell to start on the other side. In midfield Kalvin Phillips, already branded as the "Yorkshire Pirlo", will retain his berth with Jack Grealish expected to replace Mason Mount or Declan Rice. Up front, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho are pushing for a start, with Raheem Sterling and Phil Foden likely to eventually make room.
Scotland (3-5-2): Marshall; Tierney, Hendry, Hanley; Forrest, McTominay, Armstrong, McGinn, Robertson; Adam, Dykes
Billy Gilmour and Kieran Tierney both missed the match against the Czech and will be desperate to recover in time to feature at Wembley. Southampton's striker Che Adams should start after surprisingly starting the opening match on the bench. He should partner Lyndon Dykes upfront. Right wing-back Stephen O'Donnel could be replaced by James Forrest, with Andrew Robertson playing on the other flank. The likes of Stuart Armstrong, Scott McTominay and John McGinn will start in the middle of the park.
England v Scotland Predictions
We expect Scotland to put up a fantastic fight here but England are the best side by a mile and they should be able to ease past the Scots at Wembley. Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford was barely tested by Croatia and we expect another solid performance by the English backline. Hence we back "England to win to NIL". As to goalscorer, we believe Harry Kane could finally break the duck at the Euros. Keep an eye also on William Hill's crazy offers, expecially on "1+ Cards to be Shown" and "Jack Grealish to be fouled", both offered at a whopping price of 20/1.Our mission at BetAndSkill.com is to provide you with free football tips.
