Italy vs Austria Betting Preview
Three out of three wins in Group A, all obtained without conceding any goals. This is the impressive score of Italy in the three games played at the Stadio Olimpico, which make the Azzurri one of the favorites of the 2021 European Championships. After beating Turkey 3-0, and Switzerland with the same scoreline, Roberto Mancini made wholesale changes to the starting XI for the final game but still managed to beat Wales 1-0. The Azzurri have won their last 11 games keeping a clean sheet in each game (they have scored 32 goals in the process) and are unbeaten in 30 games. As a consequence, Mancini equaled Vittorio Pozzo's record of 1935-1939. Another clean sheet, moreover, would equal the record run of 12 games without conceding obtained in 1972-1974.Austria managed to qualify as runner-up in Group B with 6 points. The Austrians won the decisive match against Ukraine last Monday with a 1-0 scoreline. In their first two games, Franco Foda's team managed to get a 3-1 victory over North Macedonia, and a 2-0 defeat at the Amsterdam Arena to hosts of the Netherlands. In the first two games, Austria did not look dangerous from midfield up. Against Ukraine, the Austrians have created a little more but, against a rock solid backline like the Italian one, they will need much more to create trouble.
Statistically, Italy is unbeaten against Austria in 13 games. However, the last direct encounter dates back to 2008, too far away to be able to get relevant insights for this match.

Probable Line-Ups
Italy (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Di Lorenzo, Spinazzola, Bonucci, Bastoni; Locatelli, Jorginho, Barella; Berardi, Immobile, InsigneMancini should recall all the regular starter who played the first two matches. The only injury concerns are Alessandro Florenzi and Giorgio Chiellini, still not 100% fit. Giovanni Di Lorenzo and one between Francesco Acerbi and Alessandro Bastoni (excellent against Wales) could replaced the former PSG loanee and the Juventus veteran. In midfield Manuel Locatelli and Nicolò Barella will return alongside Jorginho, while up front the front trio formed by Lorenzo Insigne, Ciro Immobile and Domenico Berardi (favorite over Federico Chiesa) will be reinstated.
Austria (4-2-3-1): Bachmann; Lainer, Dragovic, Hinteregger, Ulmer; Grillitsch, Ilsanker; Schlager, Alaba, Sabitzer; Arnautovic
Coach Franco Foda has two injury concerns: Konrad Laimer and Christoph Baumgartner, both struggling with physical issues after the game against Ukraine. The defender has more chance to recocer, anyway, and should play from the off. David Alaba will be moved again in the trio of attacking midfielders (on the left) in an attempt to have moe quality in attack. Former West Ham Marko Arnautovic will be the main offensive threat, with Xaver Schlager and Marcel Sabitzer behind him. Stefan Ilsanker and Florian Grillitsch anchor the midfield, Martin Hinteregger and Alexandar Dragovic will form the centre-back pair.

Italy v Austria Predictions
Italy looked the in-form team of the group stage phase. Despite not having world-class players, the team plays brilliant football and has almost perfect automatisms in both attack and defense.
Austria have only scored in 2 of the last 6 games and, in our opinion, they will create very few headaches for the Italian backline. On the other side of the pitch, we expect ball possessione and high pressure from Italy, two things that will put the Austrians in crisis. We are therefore backing Italy to win. The 2-0 could be the correct score. Among the possible goalscorers, watch out for Domenco Berardi and Lorenzo Insigne.
