How to watch Portugal v Germany

Fans can tune in to watch the game for free on ITV 1 from 4:10pm. You can also live stream the match via ITV Hub on a range of devices including laptops, smartphones and tablets.

Portugal vs Germany Betting Preview

Portugal opened their Euro 2020 campaign with a 3-0 win over Hungary, with two Cristiano Ronaldo goals helping them to win in Budapest. Anyway, they struggled with breaking the Hungarians down on a fully seated Ferenc Puskas arena, as they scored three goals in the last five minutes. The Seleçao are now on a seven-game unbeaten run in all competitions. A victory over Die Mannschaft would seal their place in the round of 16, while they would confirm a position in the top two if they triumph and Hungary do not overcome France in Group F's other contest. Conversely, a defeat here would likely leave them needing to get something against Les Blues in their last fixture to progress.

Germany suffered a narrow defeat at the hands of the tournament favourites France in a spirited but toothless display, with an own goal from Mats Hummels deciding the contest in Munich. Although they registered 11 shots in their game against France, Low’s side rarely looked like finding an equalizer with just one finding the target. They are now clearly in need of a result to get out of the "Group of Death". This will be the first meeting between the two sides since the 2014 World Cup when Germany ran out 4-0 winners.

Best Odds & Price Boosts

Germany, who play in front of their own fans, are favourites to get all three points (12/5 with Betway). Betfred offer 12/5 for the draw while "Portugal to win" is backable at 7/5 with Unibet.

    Probable Line-Ups

Portugal (4-2-3-1): Patricio; Semedo, Pepe, Dias, Guerreiro; Danilo, Carvalho; Bernardo Silva, B. Fernandes, Jota; Ronaldo

Fernando Santos has very few reasons to change his starting XI. William Carvalho is perhaps most likely to drop out of the side with the likes of Ruben Neves, Joao Moutinho and Renato Sanches pushing to start. The likes of Pepe and Ruben Dias will renew their centre-back partnership once again. Rafa Silva and Andre Silva are among the options for change further forward, but it seems unlikely that either Bernardo Silva or Diogo Jota will be left out,

Germany (3-4-3): Neuer; Ginter, Hummels, Rudiger; Kimmich, Gundogan, Kroos, Gosens; Sane, Muller, Gnabry

There are some concerns over the fitness of Matthias Ginter, but the defender is likely to form a three man backline alongside Mats Hummels and Antonio Rudiger. The likes Robin Gosens and Joshua Kimmich should again line up in the wing-back areas, while Leroy Sanè and Thomas Muller are expected to support the lone striker Serge Gnabry up front. The likes of Ilkay Gundogan and Toni Kroos will retain their spot in the middle of the park.

    Portugal v Germany Predictions

This is genuinely a game which could go either way. A draw should satisfy both teams - with Portugal will almost secure their berth to the knockout stage while Germany will try to hammer Hungary in the last match and to seal qualification, at least as one of the best third teams. Hence, we could see the two teams playing out a low-scoring draw on Saturday. The 1-1 scoreline is the smartest choice, in our opinion.
