Group A Betting Preview
Germany are considered the favorites to top Group A. However, Die Mannschaft have failed to win a knockout game since their Euro 2016 campaign. This calls for an urgent return to form, especially as their opening game will pit them against Scotland. The appointment of new head coach Julian Nagelsmann has brought stability after a tumultuous period under Hansi Flick. Their impressive victories this year over France and the Netherlands in friendly matches have instilled confidence among the team and their fans. Nagelsmann will be adopting a front-foot approach, with a squad boasting offensive talents such as Leroy Sanè, Jamal Musiala, Florian Wirtz, Kai Havertz, and Niclas Fullkrug.Scotland enter the tournament with a history of never progressing beyond the group stage in major competitions. They approach their journey in Germany with confidence having performed well in a highly challenging qualification group, which involved powerhouses such as Spain, and good teams such as Norway, and Georgia. Steve Clarke's men pushed Spain to the limit and even managed to secure a well-deserved victory over La Roja on home soil in Glasgow. Clarke plays with a solid 5-4-1 formation, with Scott McTominay offering support to the lone striker.
Switzerland have been lackluster since their memorable victory over France in the Euro 2020 penalty shootout and their impressive performance in topping their World Cup qualifying group ahead of Italy. Their momentum came to a halt with a disappointing elimination at the Last-16 stage in Qatar and they enter this tournament on the back of an unconvincing and inconsistent Euro 2024 qualification campaign in which La Nati only won 4 out of 10 qualifiers (with 5 draws and 1 defeat). Defensively, they have shown vulnerabilities. Goalkeeper Yann Sommer, midfield Granit Xhaka and defender Manuel Akanji are the stars of the team, while Burnley's Zeki Amdouni has been their main goalscorer in qualifying.
Hungary has been defying expectations since the arrival of manager Marco Rossi in 2018. They remain unbeaten since 2022 impressively defeating Serbia both home and away during qualification. The Magyars were also close to topping a Nations League pool that involved big-hitters England, Germany and Italy. The team lacks a prolific goalscorer in their ranks as Dominik Szoboszlai and Barnabas Varga both finished qualifying with four goals. But Hungary are a solid unit and they also boast an exceptional set-piece record.

Euro 2024 Group A Predictions
It is no surprise that Germany are strongly favored to win Group A. After a dismal period in 2023, the departure of Hansi Flick and the subsequent appointment of Nagelsmann have revitalized Die Mannschaft. Recent victories against France and the Netherlands indicate that Die Mannschaft is gradually finding their rhythm.
But they will surely face challenges from Scotland, Hungary, and Switzerland.
Although Germany are heavily favored to win the group with odds of 1/2, it may not be the most smart bet in terms of value. Switzerland have lost only once in their previous 12 matches, but they might struggle to score goals. On the other hand, Scotland is currently enduring a winless streak of seven matches and grappling with several significant injuries.
Therefore, our belief lies in Hungary defying the odds once again and emerging as the winners of the group, probably ahead of the hosts.
Will Scotland progress to knockout stage?
Scotland are 11/10 to qualify with Parimatch. They are winless in seven outing at time of writing. Confidence appears to have been drained from Clarke’s men, and with injuries already mounting, the Scots are outsiders to qualify- their best chance is to escape the group as one of the four best third-placed teams.
Will Germany win all three group stage matches?
Switzerland have managed to avoid defeat against Germany in their last three encounters, while Hungary emerged victorious when they face Die Mannschaft in the 2022 Nations League. Furthermore, Scotland beat a heavyweight national team such as Spain in qualifying. As a result, we believe that at least one of these three opponents will take points against Germany.
