Group F Betting Preview
Portugal are among the nations at the head of the market to win Euro 2024, according to estabilished and new betting sites.
After a disappointing performance in the 2022 World Cup, falling short in the quarter-finals, they sacked Fernando Santos and appointed Roberto Martinez as their head coach in January 2023.
Portugal's qualification journey for the tournament was impressive, winning all ten matches against Slovakia, Luxembourg, Iceland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Liechtenstein. They finished eight points ahead of the runners-up with an outstanding record of 36 goals scored and only two conceded.
Portugal suffered an unexpected defeat against Slovenia (2-0) in March, and their recent friendlies in early June showed mixed results. They defeated Finland 4-2 but lost to Croatia 1-2 before concluding their preparations with a convincing 3-0 victory over the Republic of Ireland.
The Seleçao has been fortunate with their draw for the tournament. The winners of Group F will face a third-place team in the Round of 16 and avoid playing against a group winner in the quarter-finals. Considering these circumstances, Portugal's chances seem undervalued.
Turkey had a disastrous Euro 2020 campaign, losing all three group-stage matches while conceding eight goals and scoring only once. However, under new manager Vincenzo Montella, they improved significantly during Euro 2024 qualifying. With just one loss, Turkey emerged victorious from a challenging group that included Croatia and Wales.
Turkey's form in 2024 has been inconsistent with defeats against Hungary and Austria. Although they managed to secure a goalless draw against Italy and put up a fight against Poland (a 2-1 defeat), their performance remains uncertain. Anyway, with emerging talents like Arda Guler, Kenan Yildiz, and Can Uzan on their side, Montella's team could bring excitement and unpredictability to the tournament in Germany.
Georgia will make their European Championship debut after securing their place in the tournament through the play-offs.
The Crusaders were drawn in a tough qualifying group and finished behind Spain, Scotland and Norway only coming ahead of Cyprus. Anyway, they showed resilience by eliminating Luxembourg (2-0) and Greece (4-2 on penalties) in the playoffs.
Under coach Willy Sagnol's guidance, Georgia possesses a strong defensive structure and explosive counter-attacks. Their tactical flexibility along with Kvicha Kvaratskhelia's talent can cause a few shocks this summer.
The Czech Republic qualified for Euro 2024 after finishing level on points with Albania but below them due to a worse head-to-head record. However, they outperformed Poland. They finished as runners-up - well above Poland, Moldova and Faroe Island - scoring 12 and conceding 6 in the process.
A coaching change as recently as January is far from ideal but Ivan Hasek's team aims to replicate their impressive quarter-final run from Euro 2020. With caution as their focus and an impressive record of just two losses in their last fourteen matches ,the Lions are surely ones to watch.

Considering the talent at their disposal and a such successful qualifying campaign, we expect that Portungal will outperform any team in this group effortlessly.
Turkey have struggled in recent times but they performed well during qualification, capitalizing on four victories out of six matches towards securing a top-two spot in Group F.
On the other hand,the Czech Republic faced relatively weaker opponents during qualification, and finished behind Albania. Three out of their four wins came against Faroe Islands and Moldova respectively
Interestingly enough, Georgia has shown potential to cause upsets and might escape the group as one of the best four third-placed teams.
Will Georgia progress to knockout stage?
Georgia can't compete with Portugal but meeting the Seleçao in the third and final group stage match is an advantage. Should they beat one between Czech Republic and Slovenia (or even collecting 4 points) the Crusaders could escape the group despite being debutants in a major torunament.
Will Portugal win all three matches in the Group F?
Portugal won all their 10 qualifying matches and arrives in Germany as one of the most backed teams by football pundits and fans. Cristiano Rolando is past his prime, but CR7 is surrounded by top players this time. Portugal are likely to win the first two games in order to secure a spot in the knock-out stage. Even with fringe players, they will be huge favourite to beat Georgia in the final game. As a result, we back Portugal to top the Group E with 9 points .
