FRAMPTON vs QUIGG: BETTING PREVIEW
The IBF champion Carl Frampton boasts an unbeaten professional record with (21-0, 14 KOs) following his two victories in 2015. The Northern Irishman stopped Chris Avalos in February of last year but was dropped twice in the first round by Alejandro Gonzalez Jr last July. Anyway, he showed plenty of spirit and no shortage of skill to recover and take a clear points victory
Frampton is three inches shorter and two years older than his rival but he does boast knockout power. He is strong, moves his legs very well and is a good counter puncher. His camp have recently discussed moving up to another division and claimed a difficult weight cut had been one of the reasons why the fighter failed to impress in the US.
Scott Quigg (31-0-2, 23 KOs) demolished former world champion Kiko Martinez in just 4 minutes last time out, the same who had given Frampton serious problems when they met around 18 months ago. Quigg has also been floored during his career but it was all the way back in 2012 when Jamie Arthur knocked him down in the 4th round. He got back up and went on to win, but the doubt still remains about his ability to take a punch.
Quigg throws punches from unorthodox angles and, like all of trainer Joe Gallagher's students, is an accurate and concussive body puncher. He will be the bigger man in the ring and has been blessed with home crowd advantage here. Another advantage for Quigg is his physical strength and stamina. Plus, he is certainly the heavier handed, every punch he lands is hurtful.
