FRANCE v SPAIN BETTING PREVIEW

France defied many people's expectations by reaching the quarter-finals in the World Cup, before losing out 1-0 to eventual winners Germany.  A new squad with vast potential is emerging under Deschamps as they will host the Euro 2016 tournament.

BetVictor Betting BonusFrance boss Didier Deschamps has admitted that he’s not going to experiment much with his squad and will field a similar team to the one that featured in World Cup. That could see Antoine Griezmann start on the left wing again. Arsenal’s Laurent Koscielny, though, will miss the match owing to a head injury, Jeremy Mathieu will take his place in the squad. Steve Mandanda comes into the goalkeeping ranks at the expense of Mickael Landreau. Olivier Giroud's broken leg also sees Alexandre Lacazette come into the line-up. defender Eric Abidal and midfielders Franck Ribery and Samir Nasri have all retired from international football.

Spain’s World Cup campaign was one to forget having crashed out in Brazil this summer with barely a whimper in their quest to defend their crown. After their exit, many believed that Spain's possession-based tiki-taka style had been shown up as outdated, with a greater emphasis now on pacy, counterattacking play.

Xavi and Xabi Alonso have announced their international retirement while Andres Iniesta is out with a knee injury. Fernando Torres and Juan Mata are other two of the most significant names to be missing from the setup. Raul Garcia and Dani Carvajal could both be given debuts, while Diego Costa will lead the line after an electric start to the season at Chelsea.

France haven’t won any of the last five games against the Spaniards. These two sides were paired together in qualifying for the aforementioned World Cup in Brazil and while Spain managed to win in France and draw 1-1 at home they were two extremely tight games.
