GARY ANDERSON v MARK FROST: Betting preview The match gets underway on Thursday night at around 9.15pm GMT and will be contested over the best of five sets (best of five legs per set) at the Alexandra Palace in London. The winner of this match will face Either Scotland's John Henderson or Andrew 'Goldfinger' Gilding in the Second Round on Friday December 23.
Gary Anderson has been in decent form in 2016, winning both the Tokyo and Auckland Masters and losing the final of the World Grand Prix. He is in by some distance the most comfortable half of the draw and his trickiest match en route to the final will probably be against Peter Wright or James Wade. The Flying Scotsman has been experimenting with glasses and it seems like they have been more of a hindrance than anything.
However, there’s been a level of inconsistency, too, with Gary Anderson, with a disappointing performance at the Players Championship Finals, losing to Ron Meulenkamp in the second round, after almost coming undone against John Henderson in the first round.
Mark Frost, nicknamed 'Frosty The Throw Man' and world number 76, reached the Semi-Finals of a Players Championship event in October - his best ever run in PDC competition. He had a good year, with some notable scalps including Kim Huybrechts, Jelle Klassen and numerous victories over Keegan Brown in 2016.
