New record signing Matthijs De Ligt is expected to play few minutes in the 2nd half. Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot have both joined on a free transfer from Arsenal and PSG respectively, but the Welshman is still recovering from his injury. The Old Lady also acquired Roma’s Luca Pellegrini, with Leonardo Spinazzola going the other way, and Sassuolo’s Merih Demiral. Plus, Gianluigi Buffon has rejoined the club from Paris Saint-Germain and Gonzalo Higuain has returned from a loan spell at Chelsea. Cristiano Ronaldo is likely to lead the line, flanked by Federico Bernardeschi and Mario Mandzukic. The likes of Juan Cuadrado, Moise Kean, Alex Sandro, Paulo Dybala and Giorgio Chiellini are absent for Sarri's side.
Kieran Trippier is set to leave the club for Atletico Madrid, so there could be a "hole" at right back. Juan Foyth and Kyle Walker-Peters will start as full backs, with Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld paired at the centre. Harry Kane is expected to lead the line with support from Lucas Moura and Son Heung-Min. Speculation surrounding Christian Eriksen's future at the club means that the Dane should be rested. Serge Aurier, Davinson Sanchez and Victor Wanyama are also not with the party, with all three given extra time off following their international commitments this summer. Ben Davies, Eric Dier, Vincent Janssen and Danny Rose are unavailable.
