Canelo vs Saunders Betting Preview
Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez (55-1-2, 37 KOs) won the WBA (super), WBC and Ring Magazine belts by besting Callum Smith over 12 rounds last December and defended the titles in February when he comfortably stopped Turkish boxer Avni Yildirim in three rounds. The Mexican moved up to super middleweight in December 2018 after beating Gennadiy Golovkin. He returned for another fight and effectively cleaned out the division. In 2019 Canelo moved up as high as light-heavyweight and KO'd Sergey Kovalev for the WBO title. He has now a run of 14 unbeaten fights since his only loss to date - an infamous split decision defeat at the hands of Floyd Mayweather when he was 23 and ‘Money’ at the peak of his powers.Billy Joe Saunders (30-0, 14 KOs) is still unbeaten and was last seen last December when beat domestic rival Martin Murray via unanimous decision. It was hardly an eye-catching outing either, it was more of a fight to get him back in the ring after a year-long lay-off. The British boxer claimed that WBO super middleweight title in his first fight at this weight division, beating Shefat Isufi via unanimous decision. He has since made two successful defenses. Saunders has never faced an opponent of the calibre of Canelo Alvarez. He has beaten the likes of Chris Eubank Jr and Andy Lee but was arguably at his best four years ago when defeating David Lemieux.

Canelo vs Saunders: Who is Favourite To Win?
Canelo is red hot favourite to win the fight, with SportNation offering the best price (1/5) on for the Mexican. The upset by Billy Joe Saunders is available at 5/1 with Betfair while the draw is available at 22/1 with Ladbrokes. Our Canelo vs Saunders Predictions
Canelo is pound-for-pound No.1 and BJS is an unbeaten two-weight world champion. Saunders' defensive skills are almost as renowned as Canelo’s. The Brit’s may have 14 stoppage wins from 30 fights but he lacks the power to keep Alvarez at bay. We expect Billy Joe Saunders to put up a fantastic fight and cause Canelo a few problems for the first six to eight rounds. Then Canelo will eventually walk through him and stop in between rounds eight and 12.
