Deontay Wilder vs Joseph Parker Preview
Deontay Wilder (43-2-1) is a former WBC heavyweight champion with over 40 wins via knockout.
This will be only the American's second fight since his back-to-back defeats to Tyson Fury in that famous trilogy that culminated in October 2021. The first fight against the Gypsy King finished in a draw. As a result, Fury is the only man to have defeated the Bronze Bomber so far.
Since that brutal loss, Wilder has fought just once, scording an impressive first-round knockout on Robert Helenius (who would later go seven round with Anthony Joshua) in October 2022.
Hence, ha has been inactive for more than one year and ring rust could be a factor.
Joseph Parker (33-3. 23 KOs) is a former WBO heavyweight champion. He won his first 24 pro bouts, including against decent fighter such as Carlos Takam, Andy Ruiz Jr, Razvan Cojanu and Hughie Fury.
On his 25th fight, Parker was the first man to go the distance with Joshua as a professional when he lost his WBO belt in a unification bout in Cardiff in 2018.
In the following outing, he suffered his second loss when he was outpointed by Dillian Whyte in a fight that saw both boxers hit the canvas. Then, the Kiwi won his subsequent 6 fights, including the two bouts at the AO Arena in Manchester against Derek Chisora.
After that, Joe Parker was surprisingly knocked out by a much slower Joe Joyce in September 2022.
Since then, Parker has recorded three straight victories against Jack Massey (on points in a 10 round bout), Faiga Opelu (1st round Knockout) and Simon Kean (3rd round KO). In his last outing, the New Zealander won the vacant IB and WBO Inter-continental heavyweight titles in the Fury vs Ngannou undercard.
Interestingly, this will be Parker's fourth fight in 2023, so we expect him to be fresher than his opponent.

Wilder vs Parker Betting Tips - Who wins and how?
Parker is probably the more technical boxer out of the two and has the potential to strategically outbox his opponent. He possesses a good defense and has shown he can deal with heavy-hitter in his bout against AJ (forgot the fight against Joe Joyce).
On the other side, Deontay Wilder needs just one punch to end the fight. The American can lose every round, but his menacing right hand can put any opposition to sleep in any moment.
Even if Parker has good defensive movements, we believe that is extremely unlikely he will go an entire fight without being obliterated by Wilder's dominant right hand. It appears a matter of "when", not "if".
As a result, we back Deontay Wilder to record a stoppage victory between rounds 5 and 8. That would be the Kiwi's second KO loss in his career.
