When is & How To Watch Chris Eubank Jr. vs Conor Benn?

Eubank Jr and Benn are scheduled to face off at London's O2 Arena on Saturday October 8, three decades after their famous fathers fought each other.

The fight night is promoted by Eddie Hearn 's Matchroom, the same promotion that brough us big fights such as Canelo Alvarez vs Gennady Golovkin 3 and Oleksandr Usyk vs Anthony Joshua 2 few weeks ago.

The ringwalks are expected at about 10pm UK time.

The catchweight battle between these two British fighter will be streamed live on DAZN worldwide and in the UK.

It can be streamed via the DAZN app and can be viewed on smart TVs, game consoles, connected devices, mobile, tablets and computers.

What happened between the fathers?

Fathers Chris Eubank Sr and Nigel Benn fought twice in 1990 and 1993 in one of the fiercest rivalries in the history of the sport. The first fight took place in Birmingham and Eubank stopped Benn in the ninth round to win the WBO middleweight title. Three years later, at super middleweight, the pair fought to a draw in a huge event at Manchester United’s Old Trafford stadium.

Chris Eubank Jr. vs Conor Benn: Betting Preview

Chris Eubank Jr. (32-2, 23 KOs) is the reigning WBA Continental welterweight champion and is coming off a 12 round UD win against Liam Williams on 5 February, 2022. He has only tasted defeat twice in his pro-career which started in 2011, to Billy Joe Saunders and George Groves. His biggest wins came against a 37-year-old Arthur Abraham and James DeGale, who retired straight after the fight. He is on a five-fight winning streak since losing to George Groves in 2018 at the Manchester Arena.

Conor Benn (21-0, 14 KOs) is undefeated so far. After winning the WBA continental welterweight title in 2018, he scored impressive knockout wins over Chris van Heerden, Chris Algieri, and Samuel Vargas recently. He is improving rapidly over recent fights and has stepped up in levels but this would be by far his toughest fight to date.

Eubank Jr. is concerned about having to drop down to 157lb but clearly has the upper hand in size and experience. He will probably outweigh Benn by a stone or more on fight night and a stone weight advantage is no joke. So, Benn's best chance to beat Eubank Jr. will be to utilise his speed, sharpness and reflexes and to stay out of range.

Chris Eubank Jr. vs Conor Benn Odds

Chris Eubank Jr will be the bookmaker favourite. He's currently around the 6/13 price at VBet with Benn out at 19/10 with Betfred and the draw at 22/1 with BetVictor. Interestingly, this will be the first time Benn has been the underdog in his career.

Looking for enhanced odds? We will list the best price boosts as soon as they are available (generally few days before the fight-date).

Chris Eubank Jr. vs Conor Benn: Fight Prediction

It will be interesting to watch how both fighters look, both moving up and down weights, with at least two weight classes separating the two fighters.

Benn is moving up in weight to take on Eubank Jr, who has been honing his trade at 160 and 168 all his career, with Benn starting at 140 before moving to 147.

We expect fireworks since round #1. Conor Benn will surely use his better pace and work rate in early rounds. But his aggression could be used against him in the championship rounds. Furthermore, he relies on his power and we are so sure it will be as significant against someone of Eubank’s size.

As a result, we expect Eubank to use his 4.5 reach advantage to counter Benn and frustrate the younger fighter. The fight could end before the final bell, and a 8th round KO win is our pick in the Round Betting market.

Who is Tony Bellew predicting to win/lose?

Tony Bellew has recently given his thoughts on Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn.

"People may talk about the weight difference, but they’ll be glued to their screens on October 8th. Both boxers deserve the highest credit for taking the fight because so much is on the line. I hear so much stuff about the rehydration clause, their usual fighting weight and Conor Benn having nothing to lose but when there’s a chance you might suffer defeat, you’re risking a lot. I’m not going to make a prediction on the fight now as there’s still a long way to go in the build-up, but you will be hearing from me on fight week, and you’ll get my pick then."
