Mayweather vs Paul: The Rules
The fight between Mayweather and Paul, scheduled for this Sunday on Showtime pay-per-view, is an exhibition boxing match where rules allow for a maximum of eight rounds. This means it will not go on either man’s professional record as an official victory and will be fought under special rules. Rounds are three minutes as usual.
The ruleset for Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul has now been slightly altered.
There are no judges for if the exhibition goes the distance and, in this case, there will be no official winner read out. This was the same for the Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr exhibition last November.
Knockouts are allowed, but this will be the only way to secure a ‘win’ of any kind. Both fighters agreed to use lighter, 10 oz gloves in Sunday's showdown in Miami, and this will make a KO more likely to occur.
Furthermore, Floyd cannot weigh more than 160 pounds, which will be no problem, and Paul no more than 190.
Here's a recap of the official rules:
- No judges scoring contest
- No official winner
- Fight won’t go on official records
- Knockouts are allowed
- Referee will stop the bout if needed
- 10-ounce gloves
- No headgear
- Eight, three-minute rounds

Floyd Mayeweather is one of the greatest boxers of all time. In his last professional bout, Mayweather defeated UFC star Conor McGregor on 26th August 2017 by technical knockout in the 10th round at T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas. His most famous victory was against Manny Pacquiao on 2nd May 2015 by unanimous decision in their WBC World Welterweight.

Our Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul Predictions
Despite being known as a YouTuber it's Logan Paul who has been the most popular with bettors since this market first opened.
But it's hard to look at the resumes of th two contenders and not think the fight is a mismatch. Regardless of age and size, Mayweather is undoubtedly one of the all-time greats of the sport and will be far quicker. Plus, he has so much more experience of knowing how to control fights.
As mentioned above, a KO is the only way to secure any real form of ‘win’ in the contest and Floyd Mayweather Jr. guaranteed that his boxing match against Logan Paul will end before the final bell rings.
As a result, we expect a first round of show (there's been too much hype surrounding this event for either of them to end it quickly). But things will getting serious in the 2nd round. Probably the bell will save Logan Paul in the second round, but we predict Mayweather to stop the Youtuber in the third.
