Joyce vs Chisora Betting Preview
Joe Joyce comes with a professional record of 16-2, with 15 of those wins coming via stoppage. He enters this bout on the back of a final round victory over Kash Ali back in March, as he bounced back from two defeats against Zhilei Zhang last year. Prior to that, the 2016 Olympic Silver medallist claimed the interim version of the WBO title in September 2022, knocking out Joseph Parker in 11 rounds in Manchester. Of course, after two heavy KO defeats against Zhang (in the 6th and 3rd round), the "Juggernaut" simply cannot afford another defeat if he's to challenge for a world title in the twilight of his career.
Derek Chisora, who holds a 34-13 career mark including 23 KO wins, managed to get a 10-round unanimous decision win over Gerald Washington in his first fight since a stoppage defeat to Tyson Fury in December 2022. That victory was only the 2nd in the last six bouts for "Del Boy", a run that led plenty of boxing purists calling for the heavyweight veteran to retire. Anyway, the Zimbabwe-native fought elite fighters - he lost three time against Tyson Fury, twice against Dillian Whyte in his prime, and more recently he went to the distance against a former heavyweight titleholder Joseph Parker in December, 2021 after losing a split decision to him seven months earlier.
Joyce vs Chisora Betting Odds
Joe Joyce is 2/9 to get the win with Ladbrokes, a reflection of that aforementioned freshness and where Derek Chisora is these days. "Del Boy" is out at 4/1 with Betfred while the draw is priced at 20/1 by Coral.
Joe Joyce vs Dereck Chisora Fight Predictions
Known for his resilience and aggressive style, Dereck Chisora has built a reputation as one of the division’s toughest competitors. His last six fights all went to the scorecards.
Meanwhile, Joe Joyce was forced to wait until the final round before stopping Kash Ali, not a top-level athlete, in his last outing. Prior to that, he was hammered by Zhilei Zhang, looking slow and defenseless.
Chisora's age makes him vulnerable in later rounds but Del Boy is still a heavy hitter and his chin is rock solid.
An upset can't be ruled out. If Chisora finds a way to punish Joe Joyce like Zhang did, anything can happen.
In our opinion, there is no value in betting on Joyce to win. Rather than that, we go for the bout to go the distance.
