Scotland vs England Betting Preview
Scotland have won all five of their Euro 2024 qualifiers - the most notable of those being a standout 2-0 win over Spain - and they come into this clash on the back of their 3-0 win in Cyprus on Friday night. In this five outings, Steve Clarke's men have scored 12 and conceded just one goal. The last two meetings between the sides have resulted in a draw, meaning the Tartan Army are winless in five direct encounters this century.
England come into it off a shakey 1-1 draw with Ukraine in Wroclasw (Poland). That result that sees Gareth Southgate's men still boasting a six point lead at the top of Group C but plenty of questions have been asked about his selection of players not even starting for their club sides or playing in weaker leagues abroad. Prior to that they beat Italy 2-1 away from home, hammered North Macedonia 7-0 at Old Trafford and won 4-0 in Malta.
Best Odds
England are favorite to win at Hampden Park. Gareth Southgate's men are 5/6 to beat the the Tartan Army with 10Bet.
Scotland can be backed at 18/5 (with Unibet) with the draw currently available at 29/10 (with Unibet).
Probable Line-Ups
Scotland (3-4-2-1): Gunn; Porteous, Hendry, Tierney; Patterson, S. Armstrong, McGregor, Robertson; McTominay, McGinn; Dykes
The hosts have no injury concerns to report heading into this gameand the likes of Lyndon Dykes, Ryan Christie and Stuart Armstrong are all pushing for a place in the starting lineup. Kieran Tierney, Andy Robertson, Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour are all expected to play as well, as Steve Clarke should field his strongest lineup. Nathan Patterson will potentially come into the team as the right-sided wing-back, while Stuart Armstrong could feature in midfield. Up front, Lyndon Dykes is likely to spearhead the attack, supported by McTominay and John McGinn.
England (4-3-3): Pickford; Walker, Maguire, Colwill, Chilwell; Gallagher, Rice, Bellingham; Foden, Kane, Rashford
Jack Grealish and Trent Alexander-Arnold withdrew from the squad through injury but England have no fresh injuries. Anyway, Head coach Gareth Southgate is expected to make several changes. The likes of Jordan Henderson and Harry Maguire are likely to be rested while Levi Colwill and Eddie Nketiah are both hoping to make their international debut with the senior team. Phil Foden should feature from the off, supporting Harry Kane up front. Aaron Ramsdale, Callum Wilson and Eberechi Eze will all be hoping for minutes after failing to get off the bench in Poland.
Our Scotland vs England Predictions
Scotland are flying at the moment. They have recorded five straight victories and are unbeaten in six games at home. They will be high on confidence and full of energy as the Hampden Park crowd will be right behind them.
Southgate is expected to resist the temptation to completely shuffle his pack and this could give the host an edge.
As a result, we back Scotland to win or draw (Double Chance) and we also recommend the both teams to score option.
Harry Kane is offered at 40/1 to find the back of the net with Betvictor, and this is an unmissable bargain (no wagering requirements on winnings).
As to the correct score, Scotland to win 2-1 is a value bet at odds of 14/1.
