How to watch England v Hungary
Hungary vs England kicks off at 5pm BST on Saturday 4 June. Puskas Arena in Budapest will host this Nations League clash.
The match will be broadcast live on Channel 4 and streamed on the All 4 platform.
Hungary vs England Betting Preview
England faced Hungary twice during their World Cup qualifying campaign. The Three Lions took four points across the two clashes as they qualified for Qatar 2022 with ease. Gareth Southgate finished their qualifying campaign unbeat (W8 D2) and beat Hungary 4-0 in Budapest last September. Five goals were scored and only one was conceded as England claimed a pair of friendly victories over Switzerland and Ivory Coast back in March.
Hungary had an impressive Euro 2021 tournament but their form has tumbled in the last twelve months, with the Magyarok winning just four of their last 13 games dating back to June 8. They ended fourth in the World Cup qualifying group and failed to qualify for the upcoming World Cup despite beating Poland in their last qualifiers last November. Marco Rossi’s men have won and lost one friendly game each this year - they syffered a 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Serbia and beat Northern Ireland on the travel with the same scoreline.
Best Odds
England are red-hot favourite to take all three points here with STS pricing the away win at 21/50.The draw is backable at 15/4 with Grosvenor Sports while Hungary are 17/2 to win with Betvictor.
Probable Line-Ups
Hungary (3-4-2-1): Gulacsi; At. Szalai, Orban, Lang; Nego, A. Nagy, Schafer, S. Nagy; Sallai, Szoboszlai; Ad. Szalai
Marco Rossi's customary 3-4-2-1 formation should see the lone striker Adam Szalai supported by Roland Sallai and the talented Dominik Szoboszlai as ever. Peter Gulacsi is expected to start between the sticks while Attila Szalai, Willi Orban and Adam Lang should form the three man backline. Kevin Varga is the only player to miss out from that group while Csaba Spandler, Peter Barath and 17-year-old striker Zalan Vancsa are three of the uncapped players that could play at some stage.
England (4-2-3-1): Pickford; James, Stones, Maguire, Trippier; Rice, Bellingham; Saka, Mount, Grealish; Kane.
Phil Foden is out with Covid while Manchester City colleague Raheem Sterling is also unwell. The likes Fikayo Tomori and Marc Guehi are absent due to knocks while Arsenal’s Ben White withdrew from the squad due to injury meaning that John Stones and Harry Maguire will be paired at the hearth of the backline. Jarrod Bowen and James Justin will both push for their first caps but they will initially sit on bench. Jude Bellingham is expected to partner Declan Rice in the middle of the park, while Bukayo Saka, Mason Mount and Jack Grealish should form the offensive midfield trio behind Harry Kane.
England v Hungary Predictions
Hungary proved throughout Euro 2020 that they are a tough nut to crack and will surely fight to get at least a point. Anyway, many players will aim to impress their manager in order to make the World Cup named squad and then they'll have enough motivations to extend their 9-match unbeaten streak. We expect a narrow win for Gareth Southgate's men. The 0-1 scoreline is our pick in the Correct Score markets. The under 2.5 goals bet also is appealing.
