Everton vs Liverpool Betting Preview
Everton are still winless this season having recorded three draw and two defeats thus far. They enter the Merseyside derby on the back of a hard-fought draw at Leeds UTD, a result that stretched their unbeaten run to 4 matches including their EFL Cup win over Fleetwood (0-1) on 23rd August. The Toffees have failed to keep a clean sheet in the top-flight so far and are also struggling up front, as they are playing without a pure striker and have scored just 4 goals so far. Anyway, Frank Lampard's men have been boosted by the signing of Neal Maupay from Brighton last week.
Liverpool are looking for a third consecutive Premier League win after narrowly beating Newcastle in midweek, courtesy of a last-gasp goal score by the youngster Fabio Carvalho. Prior to that, the Reds beat 9-0 Bournemouth at Anfield, recovering from a rough start to the season that saw Jurgen Klopp's men collecting just two points from the first three gameweeks. In fact, after two consecutive draws against Fulham (2-2 on the road) and Crystal Palace (1-1 at home), the Merseysiders suffered a 2-1 defeat against bitter rivals Manchester UTD - who were yet to earn a point at that time - in Gameweek 3.
Probable Line-Ups
Everton (4-5-1): Pickford; Patterson, Coady, Tarkowski, Mykolenko; McNeil, Davies, Onana, Iwobi, Gordon; Maupay
Neal Maupay will finally make his bow this weekend - more than a week after he joined his new club. The other two new signings Idrissa Gueye (from PSG) and James Garner (from Man UTD) will make the bench at maximum. The likes of Yerry Mina, Ben Godfrey, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Mason Holgate and Andros Townsend all miss out through injury.
Liverpool (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Elliott, Fabinho, Carvalho; Salah, Firmino, Diaz
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson limped off with a hamstring issue against Newcastle last time out and will miss this clash. Jurgen Klopp's midfield options are therefore even more limited than before, with Thiago Alcantara, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita all still injured. New arrival Arthur Melo from Juventus lacks match fitness. As a result, Fabio Carvalho should feature from the off in the middle of the park, alongside Harvey Elliott and Fabinho. The backline will remain unchanged while up front Roberto Firmino and Darwin Nunez are in contention for a starting berth.
Best Odds

Liverpool are unsurprisingly the favourites to get the three points, with SportNation offering odds of 4/9 (1.44) for an away win. Everton are the underdogs as they are still winless after five matches and can be backed at odds of 15/2 (8.50) with Betfred while the draw is priced at 17/4 (5.25) with Spreadex.
Our Everton v Liverpool Predictions
Neither side have been at their best this season but, despite a long list of missing players, Jurgen Klopp's men certainly have the quality to overcome the Toffees. Getting Darwin Nunez (and possibly Diogo Jota) back from a three-match ban will be a timely boost as he made a good early impression before being sent off against Crystal Palace. Liverpool ran out 2-0 winners against Everton the last time these two sides met and we are backing the same scoreline here. Darwin Nunez is our pick in the anytime goalscorer market, but we recommend to wait for the official starting XI to be announced.
