Inter Milan vs Juventus Betting Preview
Inter Milan arrive to the challenge with the historical rivals of Juve fresh off the first defeat of the season in the league: last weekend, the Nerazzurri were beaten by Lazio (3-1) at the Stadio Olimpico. Last Tuesday, however, Simone Inzaghi's men bounced back by beating Sheriff Tiraspol 3-1 at San Siro, getting back in the running for qualification in their Champions League group. Inter Milan are already trailing Serie A leaders Napoli by 7 points, despite being the highest-scoring team in the league, and cannot afford further hiccups in the league.
After the shocking start, Max Allegri found a way to restore solidity to his team. The last 4 games, equally divided between the Champions League and Serie A, have seen the Bianconeri snatching four 1-0 victories (at home against Chelsea and AS Roma, away against Torino and Zenit St. Petersburg). They are not playing brilliant football but at least they are approaching the Top 4 and play like a team once again. Before these four consecutive clean sheets, Juve had set a negative record: 25 games in a row in the league with at least one goal conceded.
These two teams met 4 times last season, two in the league and two in the Coppa Italia. Juventus knocked out Inter in the Cup, winning the match at S. Siro 2-1 and keeping things tight in the return match in Turin (0-0). In the league, Inter Milan won 2-0 at home but Juventus avenged that defeat last May 15th by winning 3-2 at Allianz Stadium. The Nerazzurri, however, had already mathematically won the Scudetto. Inter and Juventus will meet again in the coming months for the final of the Italian Super Cup.
Starting Line-Ups
Inter Milan (3-5-2): Handanovic; Skriniar, De Vrij, Bastoni; Darmian, Barella, Brozovic, Calhanoglu, Perisic; Martinez, Dzeko
Hakan Calhanoglu is available to play and will take the place of Arturo Vidal in the middle of the park. The other change will concern the right flank where Denzel Dumfries will make room to the more reliable Darmian. Edin Dzeko and Lautaro Martinez will renew their partnership up front, with Joaquin Correa and Alexis Sanchez ready to play in the second half. Alessandro Bastoni will feature from the off in the defensive trio with Stefan De Vrij and Milan Skriniar, while the versatile Federico Dimarco will also play at some stage (probably as a centre-back rather than a left wing-back).
Juventus (4-4-2): Szczesny; Alex Sandro, Chiellini, Bonucci, Danilo; Betancur, Locatelli, Cuadrado, Bernardeschi; Morata, Chiesa
Allegri recovers Paulo Dybala and Adrien Rabiot, as they were still struggling with muscle injury and COVID-19 respectively. The Argentine, however, should sit on bench in Allegri's initial 4-4-2, given that the manager is oriented to put Federico Chiesa and Alvaro Morata up front. Moise Kean and Dejan Kulusevski, the two match winners in the last two games, provide further offensive options. Federico Bernardeschi and Juan Cuadrado are the likely starting wings. In defense, Giorgio Chiellini will probably flank Leonardo Bonucci, with Mattia De Sciglio and Alex Sandro as full backs. Matthijs De Ligt is not 100% fit and will be rested.
Best Odds
We have selected for you the best odds on the Inter Milan vs Juventus match result betting marketInter Milan vs Juventus Betting Tips
Inter vs Juventus is usually the hardes match to call in the Italian football. However, the home side looks in a better shape compared to the visitors. The feeling is that the negative results of the Nerazzurri were more the result of bad luck than demerit. On the contrary, Juventus' streak of 6 consecutive victories seems more casual than the result of the team's growth. We are therefore aiming for a home victory. The style of playing of Inzaghi's team should favor those who bet on Both Teams To Score. Keep an eye on Lautaro Martinez among the scorers.
