Who is the favorite to win the King George VI Chase this year?
There are six runners in the King George VI Chase 2023, giving punters a pretty firm idea of how the race could shape up on Boxing Day.
This year's edition sees Willie Mullins' Allaho and Paul Nicholls’ Bravemansgame very close in the betting, with Shishkin and The Real Whacker their closest rivals. Frodon's bid to win a second King George looks very unlikely at the age of 12.
Hewick is another probable contender and could be a smart each-way option.

Willie Mullins has scratched Galopin Des Champs from the entry list. Royale Pagaille, Gerri Colombe and Pic D'Orhy are other notable missing entries.
2022 KING GEORGE VI CHASE BETTING PREVIEW
Top horse racing bookies have installed ALLAHO as the ante-post favourite. The dual Ryanair Chase winner missed the whole of last season with a spleen problem but made a solid return to action to win the Grade 2 Clonmel Oil Chase by nine lengths. His last outing before Clonmel was when Willie Mullins' star hammered Clan Des Obeaux in the Punchestown Gold Cup in 2022. Despite the easy win at Clonmel, it is difficult to assess where Allaho is after his lengthy break.
Last year's winner BRAVEMANSGAME has not had the answers in his two races so far this season. Paul Nicholls' charge was beaten by Royale Pagaille - who finished 14 lengths in the 2022 edition of this race - in the Betfair Chase at Haydock towards the end of last month. Prior to that, he ran a huge race to finish runner-up to Galopin Des Champs in the Cheltenham Gold Cup in March and also finished 2nd in the Charlie Hall.
SHISHKIN goes into the race without a prep run having refused to race at Ascot last month. Later on, Nicky Henderson had planned to run Shishkin in the Rehearsal Chase at Newcastle but that meeting was called off. He is is unbeaten in four starts at this course - winning by a combined 55 lengths - and will be ridden by jockey-of-the-moment Gavin Sheehan.
THE REAL WHACKER was one of last season’s best-staying novice chasers, winning all three chase starts at Cheltenham. One of his victories came in the Brown Advisory at the Cheltenham Festival, where he handed Gerri Colombe his only defeat. Patrick Neville's star pulled up in the Paddy Power Gold Cup on last month's return . He loved to front-run, but he will likely have competition for the early lead from Allaho, Hewick and Frodon.
HEWICK ran a great race in the Gold Cup when conditions weren’t ideal and he and he powered clear in the Grade 2 Oaksey Chase at Sandown in April. was going well under Brian Hughes last time out, also on his first start for the season, but had to carry close to 2st more than the majority of his rivals and was beaten in the final stages.
FRODON has gone on to record fourth and third-placed efforts in the last two runnings of the King George, soundly beaten each-time. Byrony Frost's favourite mount has been well beaten on his last three starts in handicap company but he could improve for last month's reappearance third in the Badger Beer at Wincanton.
