TOUR DE FRANCE STAGE 21 BETTING PREVIEW
The last stage of the Tour starts at France’s national velodrome in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines.But once the riders hit the cobbles on the Champs-Élysées the bunch accelerates.
Following eight laps on the Champs-Élysées circuit, the fastest men will fight for the most iconic stage win in the sport.
Stage 21 Favourites
Le Tour finished with a bunch sprint for 17 years in a row and there is no reason to expect a different outcome this year.
Jasper Philipsen powered to victory in paris last year. He has already won four stages this year and the Belgian is odds-on to make it five.
His main competitors will be Mads Pedersen and Dylan Groenewegen. The former has been the only rider who beat Philipsen in a sprint so far while the latter is recovering his best form having struggled in early stages.
Other contenders for a Top 3 finish are Biniam Girmay, Sam Welsford and Bryan Coquard.
Dark horses?
Since Wout Van Aert is not anymore in the race, his team mate Christophe Laporte will sprint for team Jumbo Visma. He is not a pure sprinters but after three weeks of racing remaining energies are the key factor.Other riders expected to sprint are Jordi Meeus, Luca Mozzato, Cees Bol, Alexander Kristoff, Peter Sagan, Alex Aranburu, Corbin Strong, Jasper Stuyven and Danny Van Poppel.
Stefan Kung, Nils Politt, Julian Alaphilippe, Matej Mohoric, Rui Costa, Magnus Cort Nielsen, Remi Cavagna and Matteo Trentin are the main candidates for a major upset.
