Francis Ngannou v Ciryl Gane: Betting Preview
Francis Ngannou make his first title defense as heavyweight champ after beating Stipe Miocic at UFC 260 more than year ago. He has won his last 5 fights and no opponent has lasted more than two rounds. The champ has fought 13 times since joining the UFC roster with 11 of those being victories. All of his wins have come via finish thus far. His resume includes first-round finishes against big names like Cain Velasquez, Junior dos Santos, Curtis Blaydes, Jairzinho Rozenstruik, and Alistair Overeem. Ngannou has never won a decision in his MMA career. If the fight goes the distance, he loses.
Ciryl Gane is 7-0 in the UFC and 10-0 in his MMA career. He made his debut in August 2019 and has beaten top fighters such as Junior dos Santos, Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Alexander Volkov, before defeating Derrick Lewis at UFC 265 for the interim heavyweight title where he had a 98-16 edge in significant strikes. Gane is an elite technical striker who excelled in kickboxing and Muay Thai before entering MMA. He also boasts impressive grappling skills with three wins by submission.
This two fighter are completely different. Ngannou's power is renowned throughout the division, and his ability to put anyone to sleep at any point is fascinating. Lewis Gane has shown exceptional technique during his time in the UFC so far. He typically uses feints and aggressive footwork to push his opponent back.
Ngannou vs Gane Odds & Price BoostsGane is surprisingly a 13/4 favorite with SportNation while Nganno is backable at 5/4 to win the fight with Ladbrokes.
Bookmaker William Hill is offering an interesting price boost on Ngannou to win by KO, TKO or Disqualification.

Our Ngannou vs Gane Predictions
The biggest question surrounding Francis Ngannou is regarding his mindset as he could leave the promotion after this fight and possibly move to the bigger money of the boxing world. Gane’s biggest advantage in this fight will be his kicking game, but he knows that Ngannou only needs a single punch to KO every opponent. The champ has only spent a grand total of eight minutes and 38 seconds fighting in the octagon over the past 3+ years, so Gane will be cautious and avoid getting into a firefight. It's a coin toss, but we expect Francis Ngannou to win by KO/TKO.
