REAL MADRID v BARCELONA BETTING PREVIEW
Real Madrid are three points clear of Barcelona in La Liga standings with a game in hand going into this clash. They have secured their progression to the Champions League semi-finals on the back of a Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick against Bayern Munich (3-2 in extra-time) after the regular time ended with a 1-2 scoreline. Prior to that, the Blancos needed a late goal from Isco to hand Real Madrid a 3-2 victory at Sporting Gijon in the league. Zinedine Zidane's men are unbeaten at the Santiago Bernabeu in La Liga this season. They have won nine of their last 10 games and have scored in 55 consecutive games.
Gareth Bale trained lightly on Thursday as he continues his recovery from a calf problem and could be replaced by Isco in the attacking trio with Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo. Pepe and Raphael Varane remain out, while Toni Kroos and Dani Carvajal suffered muscle issues after the marathon match against Bayern. Nacho will partner Sergio Ramos at the heart of the backline, while the likes of Casemiro, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric will retain their starting berth in midfield.
Barcelona enter the Clasico on the back of their European exit at the hands of Juventus, against whom they managed only one shot on target in their midweek 0-0 draw (losing 3-0 on aggregate). Away from home, Barcelona have been poor in recent weeks, losing four times in six matches in all competitions away from the Nou Camp, including a 4-0 hammering suffered against PSG and 3-0 against Juventus, both in Champions League.
Neymar must serve a suspension after being sent off against Malaga. Paco Alcacer is likely to replace him on the left side of the attacking trident. No changes are expected in midfield - with Ivan Rakitic, Andres Iniesta and Sergi Busquets playing from the off - while, in defense, Jordi Alba will start as right back. Arda Turan is a major doubt, Rafinha and Aleix Vidal are definitely out.
