REAL MADRID v ROMA BETTING PREVIEW
Real Madrid enjoyed a strong campaign last season, finishing as runners-up in La Liga and they were beaten semi-finalists in the Champions League. Former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez took over from Carlo Ancelotti after the Italian left the club.
Sergio Ramos is with the squad in Melbourne but has been actively seeking a move while Iker Casillas has already moved to FC Porto. Keylor Navas is set to replace the 34-yeat-old between the posts, while Madrid continue their pursuit of Man United David De Gea. James Rodriguez is absent but new signing Danilo from Porto is available. Teenage sensation Martin Odegaard is given an opportunity to impress before to go somewhere on-loan.
Roma will be hoping for better things in the upcoming 2015/16 season and victory over Madrid could give them some sort of confidence as the Giallorossi have lost 2-1 to Hungarian second division outift Gyirmot in their first season friendly.
Roma have only signed Iago Falque from Genoa so far but they are trying to sign Mohamed Salah and Edin Dzeko. The Giallorossi fans will hope that Kevin Strootman can come back to full fitness but the Dutch is far from his best form. For this match, Rudi Garcia could play with a 4-2-3-1 formation in which Totti is likely to act as +lone striker with Pjanic, Gervinho and Ljaijc behind him.
The Giallorossi registered a 1-0 victory over the same opposition in pre-season last year courtesy of a Francesco Totti's goal. Los Blancos have lost each of the last five friendly matches last season.
