SCOTLAND vs ENGLAND BETTING PREVIEW
Scotland were soundly beaten 34-7 by Wales (Tries 1-4) away from home during the opening weekend but managed to beat France at Murrayfield in Round 2, courtesy of a 32-26 scoreline (Tries 2-2) despite trailing 20-14 at the break. Home form has been strong with the Scots having won all 3 of the Six Nations games in fron of their own fans last year. Plus, in late 20170s test matches, they only lost 22-17 against the All Blacks and comfortably beat Australia 53-24. Anyway, Scotland have not recorded a try at home to England since 2004.
Head coach Gregor Townsend has kept faith with the players that beat France by naming an unchanged team. It means that, Finn Russell will retain his place at fly-half and h Greg Laidlaw will once again line up alongside him at scrum-half. WP Nel will make the bench after recovering from a broken arm, while Tim Swinson also returns to the match-day 23 after injury. Glasgow centre Nick Grigg, man-of-the-match display against Cheetahs last Friday, will also start on bench. Byron McGuigan, Duncan Taylor, Richie Gray, Alex Dunbar, George Turner and Ross Ford are the sidelined players.
After a comfortable success in Rome over Italy (15-46) in the opening weekend, England made it 2 wins from 2 with a hard fought 12-6 home victory over Wales in Round 2. They are level on 9 points with Ireland but with a slightly inferior points difference. The Englishmen have been the dominant force in RBS Six Nations rugby over the past couple of years and have lost only one of their last 14 matches in this tournament. Eddie Jones' men are unbeaten in their last four visits to Murrayfield, winning three games and drawing one.
Eddie Jones makes one change to XV that beat Wales as Hughes returns to side after recovering from knee injury. The No 8 has played only 23 minutes since sustaining a knee injury in December but slots into the void left by Sam Simmonds, who is sidelined until next month. Joe Marler had been named in the 25-man squad after spending time out due to bans and will replace Alec Hepburn on the bench. Courtney Lawes and Chris Robshaw will be again the flankers while Danny Care and George Ford continue as the half-backs. Ben Youngs has been ruled out of the competition with a knee injury while Billy Vunipola, who would normally get the nod at Number 8, is still unavailable due to a broken arm.
