Stage 10 of the 2019 Tour De France is a 217km undulating ride from Saint-Flour to Albi. Who will win the final stage before the rest day?
The riders will climb or descend much of the day, with few flat roads giving them a chance to catch their breath. The 217.5 kilometres route over the volcanic plateau includes four classified climbs. Moderate ascents though, wit the last categorized climb crested 53K from the finish line.
Sprinters’ teams know this is another opportunity for them to grab a win of their own. So, once again it's up to Elia Viviani to capitalise on his excellent leadout.
His main rival will be Dylan Groenewegen, wo crashed hard on stage 1 and did not sprint pain-free until stage 7. The Dutchman bounced back and outgunned Ewan in Chalon-sur-Saône.
Australian sprinter Caleb Ewan is the third favourite, although he looked far from his best form so far.
Should these three fail to stay with the leading peloton on the narrow, undulating roads into Albi, it will open a window for riders like Alexander Kristoff, Peter Sagan, Michael Matthews, and Greg Van Avermaet.
The likes of Andre Greipel, Jasper Philipsen, Matteo Trentin, Giacomo Nizzolo, Mike Theunissen, Sony Colbrelli and Wout Van Aert will probably fight for a top 5 placement.
