The 167km route from Albi to Toulouse is rarely flat, with two categorised climbs in the first half of the stage and lots of undulations along the way. Race leader Julian Alaphilippe should have no trouble keeping the yellow jersey for another day.
The back end of the stage is characterised by not great elevation change but a lot of rolling terrain with short climbs of around 5% leading into the city.
Possible breakaways should get caught in time for teams like Deceuninck–Quick Step, Lotto–Soudal, and Jumbo–Visma to set up their sprinters.
Given his 2019 credentials, Dylan Groenewegen is the rider to beat, although the Dutchman is struggling a bit at the Tour so far.
Groenewegen's team-mates Wout van Aert and Mike Teunissen are not natural fast men but both of the Jumbo-Visma riders have stage wins under their belt and can't be ruled out.
Elia Viviani is searching for his second stage win after his narrow loss to Van Aert on Monday while Peter Sagan and Caleb Ewan are collecting top 3 finishes regularly.
Alexander Kristoff has finished behind his nominal leadout Mike Philipsen a couple of times and don't seem to have the legs to make it up to the stage victory as well as Sonny Colbrelli, Matteo Trentin, Giacomo Nizzolo and Michael Matthews.

Lilian Calmejane is born in Albi. Possibly this inspires the French attacker to try his luck in the last stage before the Pyrenees.
