TOUR DE FRANCE STAGE 12 BETTING PREVIEW
This stage features one classic Pyrenean climb - the Col de Peyresourde - and another less used one - the Category 1 Hourquette d’Ancizan - leading into the finish in the classic tour town of Bagnères-de-Bigorre.
With so much descending after each summit, we expect Julian Alaphilippe to defend his yellow jersey for yet another day, as this stage should not provoke any major movement on the General Classification.
Vincenzo Nibali has lost 14 minutes during the first week, hence he could go on the attack in the mountains without gaining much attention from the GC contenders.
Michael Woods is another profile who can perform well on this kind of terrain - good climber and skilled descender.
The only GC man who can try to gain ground over his rivals is Thibault Pinot, who lost over 1 minute because of the wind few days ago.
George Bennett is very down in the GC, so he could easily get in a break without fear of being chased down over GC worries.
Another contender who would love to be in the mix at the summit of La Hourquette d’Ancizan is KOM leader and good descender Tim Wellens. His team mate Thomas De Gendt is always a force to be reckoned with.
Xandro Meurisse, Michael Valgren, Dylan Teuns, Greg Van Avermaet, Warren Barguil, Matej Mohoric and Max Schachmann are other dangerus contenders that can't be ruled out.
The likes of Giulio Ciccone and Tiesj Benoot are recovering from their crashes, so we will not bet on them.
