TOUR DE FRANCE STAGE 6 BETTING PREVIEW

It will be a very nervous affair as the second half takes place along the coast where the wind always poses a huge threat. From the city of Dieppe at the 67.5km mark, there are three categorized climbs and a lot of small climbs that are clearly visible on the stage profile. Anyway, most of the final 29.5km are mainly flat until the riders arrive at Cote d’Ingouville with 1.5km to go. Here there is a short 850m climb has a 7% average gradient while the last 500m have a gradient of around 1%.

André Greipel and Peter Sagan have dominated the first two sprints but we believe this finale will be too steep for the German sprinter. In fact, the Slovakian guy is the first favourite to win the stage on all online bookmakers. He’s nearly won two sprint stages against the very fastest riders in this Tour de France already and his condition is more than good. But his task will be very hard as well.

John Degenkolb has red-circled this stage as one of his best opportunities of the entire race while Michael Matthews is set back by injury and is not in a condition to play any role in the finale. Arnaud Demare is a good rider on uphill sprints and could be the dark horse today. If in good form, Michal Kwiatkowski should be able to survive or attack on the final hill and ride a good sprint at the line.

Othe riders who likes this kind of uphill sprint are Bryan Coquard (he won a a tough uphill sprint in Route du Sud) and Edvald Boasson Hagen (fifth on the cobbles). Unfortunately, the French rider crashed in stage 5 and that could hamper him a bit.

Alexander Kristoff is still in search of a stage win and if he can stay with the top of the race in the last 500m, the Norwegian could be a probable winner. Actually, the climb is similar to a Tour of Flanders climb where Kristoff is usually among the strongest.

Greg Van Avermaet did a very good sprint in stage 4 and is clearly in good condition as well as Tony Gallopin. Alejandro Valverde's for is a question mark as he was disappointing on the Mur de Huy. That day Joaquim Rodriguez was superb and we are sure that the Spaniard will try to make the gap on the final climb.

No chances for pure sprinters such as Cavendish and Navardauskas while Albasini will not start tomorrow (fractured left upper arm).

More outsiders? We mention the Portuguese Rui Costa and two Italians - Matteo Trentin and Filippo Pozzato - while another Italian as Vincenzo Nibali could try to earn a couple of seconds on Froome. Other good names with terrific odds Davide Cimolai and Julien Simon.
