VALENCIA vs BARCELONA BETTING PREVIEW
Valencia are still unbeaten in the Primera Division and sit 2ns in the table, four points below Barça. They come into the clash on a record run of eight successive league wins and have been very impressing at home this season, dropping just two points so far. Marcelino's men have hammered Malaga (5-0), Athletic Bilbao (3-2), Sevilla (4-0), and Leganes (3-0) in their last four games in front of their own fans. Los Che have also kept a clean sheet in 5 of their last 6 encounter at Mestalla.
Jeison Murillo is missing at centre-back, meaning that Gabreil Paulista and Ezequiel Garay will be the central pair, with Josè Gayà and Pablo Montoya as full backs. Simone Zaza has overcome his fitness con cerns and should feature from the off up front alongside Rodrigo Moreno while Gonçalo Guedes and Carlos Soler will strt out wide. Former Inter Milan midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia and Daniel Parejo are likely to anchor the midfield. Javi Jimenez remain out through injury.
Barcelona top La Liga standings with a 4 points cushion over Valencia and 10 points over bitter rivals Atletico and Real Madrid after nine wins from 12, no defeats, 32 goals scored. Ernesto Valverde's men recorded a goalless draw at Juventus in midweek, but it was enough to secure their qualification for the knockout stage in Champions League. The Blaugrana's defence has been rock solid, conceding just four goals in 12 league games so far. The Catalans made the double over Valencia last season, winning 3-2 at Mestalla before notching a 4-2 success at the Nou Camp.
Valverde is likely to use Vermaelen to partner Samuel Umtiti at the back given that Gerard Piquè is suspended and Javier Mascherano is out through injury. Nelson Semedo and Jordi Alba will complete the four man backline. The 4-4-2 starting system will see Paco Alcacer and Andres Iniesta play out wide in midfield with Sergi Busquets and Ivan Rakitic in the middle of the park. Up front, Leo Messi and Luis Suarez will lead the line as usual. Ousmane Dembelè, Rafinha, Andre Gomes and Sergi Roberto are all sidelined.
