Wales are enjoying their longest ever winning streak in competitive games

Wales are now on a run of 18 successive wins outside warm-up matches. The Dragons finished top of their pool after holding off Australia in a gripping 29-25 victory. While the team were far from at their best in wins over Fiji and Uruguay, Wales still look in excellent shape and have the joint top tryscorer in wing Josh Adams.

Warren Gatland has reverted to the same starting team that defeated Georgia and Australia. Dan Biggar and Jonathan Davies have both passed fitness tests after picking up knocks. George North is also available after recovering from an ankle injury and Hadleigh Parkes is fit following a shoulder problem. Justin Tipuric has been given a back-row place alongside Aaron Wainwright.

France have also a 100% winning record in Japan so far, although only played three matches after their final pool match with England was cancelled due to Typhoon Hagibis. They finished runners up to England in Pool C as they collected fewer bonus points. Les Blues held on at the death to beat Argentina 23-21 in their first outing. Against Los Pumash they were 20-3 up at half-time but needed a last-gasp penalty miss from Argentina to hold on for the success. Then, France beat USA 33-9 they edged out Tonga 23-21 to claim a place in the knockout rounds.

France have made five changes from the side that narrowly defeated Tonga last time out. Both Antoine Dupont and Damian Penaud have been passed fit to play and are included in the starting line-up. As a result, their possible replacements Baptiste Serin and Alivereti Raka will not be included in the starting XV.
