Argentina vs Croatia Betting Preview
Argentina downed the Netherlands 4-3 on spot-kicks after a thrilling 2-2 draw. Lionel Scaloni has seen his side improve as the tournament unfolded, after a shocking 1-2 defeat against Saudi Arabia in the opening game. They bounced back with two consecutive win over Mexico (1-0) and Poland (2-0) and played their best match in the last-16 round, beating 2-1 Australia in a hard-fought fixture.
Like they did in Russia four years ago, Croatia have taken the long road to get to the semifinals, winning penalty shoot-outs in each of the round of 16 and quarterfinal stages. The Blazers bested tournament favorites Brazil 4-2 on penalties after earning a 1-1 draw against the Selecao in regulation time. Prior to that they knocked Japan out courtesy of goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic's heroics. In group stage, Croatia drew against Belgium and Morocco, with a 4-1 victory over Canada sandwiched between the two draws.
There have been just five previous meetings between these two sides. After a 0-0 friendly draw in Zagreb back in 1994, Argentina and Croatia have won two matches each. The last time they met, at Russia 2018, the Checkered ones beat the Seleccion 3-0 in the second match of the Group stage.

Probable Line-Ups
Argentina (4-3-3): E. Martinez; Molina, Romero, Otamendi, Tagliafico; De Paul, Fernandez, Mac Allister; Di Maria, Messi, Alvarez.
Argentina will be without full-backs Marcos Acuna and Gonzalo Montiel through suspension. This could see Nicolas Tagliafico slot into a left sided role, with Nahuel Molina on the right. Winger Angel Di Maria came off the bench against the Netherlands and is expected to feature from the off. Papu Gomez missed the quarter-final with an ankle knock and remains a doubt. Enzo Fernandez, Rodrigo de Paul and Alexis Mac Allister will retain their berths in midfield, as well as Julian Alvarez up front.
Croatia (4-3-3): Livakovic, Juranovic, Lovren, Gvardiol, Sosa; Modric, Brozovic, Kovacic; Pasalic, Petkovic, Perisic
Croatia have no fresh concerns aside from tired legs having played back to back extra-times in the two knockout games. Bruno Petkovic will be hoping for a start after scoring last time out coming off the bench in place of Andrej Kramaric. The likes of Borna Sosa and Mislav Orsic both recovered from respective illnesses and the former is expected to start as full back, with Dejan lovren, Josko Gvardiol and Josip Juranovic completing the four man backline. Up front, Mario Pasalic is likely to retain his starting berth, while no changes are expected in midfield as Luka Modric, Mateo Kovacic and Marcelo Brozovic form the best trio in Qatar.
Argentina v Croatia Predictions
This promises to be a fascinating match, and one not to be missed.
Croatia have been very solid in defense, conceding just three goals in 5 games thus far. Eight of their last nine World Cup knockout matches have gone to extra-time.
Argentina have only won one of their last seven World Cup matches against European nations in regular time (W1 D3 L3).
All these stats make us thinking about a draw in regular time. The Correct Score might be a 1-1.
The Both Teams To Score option is offered well above Evens, and it should be a value bet.
We predicted Argentina and France to reach the final in our World Cup outright tips article, hence we stick with our prediction and back Argentina to qualify.
